The Course
Intra-operative imaging as a structural monitoring tool is fast becoming a mainstay of neurosurgery, especially in brain tumor surgery. Intra-Operative Ultrasound (IOUS) imaging is gaining tremendous momentum as a preferred intra-operative imaging modality. This pre-congress workshop will be presented by a group of internationally renowned neurosurgeons with vast experience in this technique and will afford attendees the opportunity to learn and practice basic and advanced IOUS techniques.
The workshop will include interactive lectures, a novel simulation platform, and a hands-on training session.
Objectives:
– Basic principles of ultrasound
– Optimisation of image quality for IOUS
– Orientation and interpretation of images
– Basic imaging techniques and correlation with MRI
– Advanced imaging techniques – contrast and elastography
